The Sony PMW-F3 marks Sony’s foray into the field of own able large sensor video cameras. Armed with a Super 35mm sensor that is rated among the cleanest currently available, the F3 packs a lot of punch into it’s small size. The F3 shoots internally to SxS cards in Sony’s XDCAM EX format, delivering a familiar workflow with a solid image quality, but the real magic happens when the camera is paired with an external recorder such as the NanoFlash or PIX240.
The F3 comes with three prime lenses specifically designed for it, a 35mm, 50mm and 85mm, and we also offer a super wide-angle lens, the Duclos 11-16mm. Alternatively, we offer a Nikon adapter, which enables the use of any Nikon lens, such as the RP Lens kit that we have.
Our F3 package can be custom built to suite your needs, but recommended upgrades are the Sony viewfinder mod, thus allowing for a traditional ENG viewfinder to be used, and the Shape WLB baseplate system, which adds a shoulder pad, handles and a quick release plate and really makes the PMW-F3 a viable handheld camera.
