The HDW-730 shoots 1080i and has the same 2.2m pixel sensor as the CineAlta. It even has an HD-SDI output, which wasn’t standard on the CineAlta until the most recent version, the F900R. The reason the 730 doesn’t get the love that the CineAlta does is because it offers limited frame rates, either 60i or 50i. However, if that’s your preferred frame rate then this is an excellent camera for your project.
The HDW-730 can be paired with the Letus DoF system to create a more filmic look.
